I've included this shot because the bird is blinking and most people don't ever see this happen and it was just luck that I captured it.
In fact most birds have three eyelids one, as here, moving downwards another moves sideways, a throwback to their reptilian past, for moistening like our tears do for us and yet another moves upwards when they sleep.
